How to Be a Beauty Blogger

from wikiHow - The How to Manual That You Can Edit
Have you ever had the passion to be a beauty blogger? Maybe you see all those famous YouTube gurus who get sponsored and think, "Hey! I want to get free products too" Well, being a beauty blogger opens those doors for you. All you need is a site, blog, or YouTube channel to get started!

Steps

  1. Find your niche. A niche is a topic that focuses on one thing. There are many topics you can write about but if you want your posts to be read, then you need to focus on a general topic. The list is large and since it's such a broad topic many people will read your posts. Just make sure you stay within your niche or that might confuse your readers. One general topic I would suggest is beauty or even fashion! If you're a beauty blogger, these are some examples you could write about...
    • Makeup
    • Makeup projects
    • Makeup products
  2. Get to writing. Since you want to become well known, you are going to have to be dedicated to this. Choose two days of the week that you will post for sure. This will give your readers an idea on when to check your site. You also have to be a good writer. No one likes to read things with many grammar errors or typos, so make sure you proofread it before posting it.
  3. Ensure your website looks nice and tidy to gather the proper attention. You should have a banner and a description of yourself. Other things like social media icons are good because they let your readers interact with you. You can make your banner online or you can even hire a professional. If you hire a professional, make sure they understand exactly what you want. A good website layout will likely bring your readers to check up on you.
  4. Learn about affiliate and advertisements. It's understandable when bloggers want to earn some money for their site. If you work hard to write and post, you deserve every penny you can earn. Some people may have different opinions but it's all up to you. Affiliate marketing is when you promote a certain product and receive revenue for it. A good site to start at is CJ Commission, it tells you how much people bought things and how much money you'll earn from it. This won't get you much cash but if you get a lot of traffic to your site then you can earn a lot from affiliating! Advertisements are when companies pay you to put an ad on your site. This can earn you a lot of money also! The best ad company is Google Adsense.
  5. Benefit from the free beauty products. If you are an efficient beauty blogger then this may be the option for you. Many beauty companies want people to advertise their products and write good reviews about it. They will send you a free product(s), which you will be able to write about! This is good because you get to try new things and don't have to spend a penny on it. If you do get a free product then you'll have to mention it to your readers. You also have to give your honest opinion and make it sound like you enjoy it. Nobody likes it when it sounds like you're just trying to sell them something because you get paid. They want to feel that you actually recommend this product to them. Usually companies will contact you for sponsorship's but if you're not that big of a deal in the blogger industry they may not. This does not mean you should give up; there are many start-up companies who are desperate for people to sponsor. You just have to sound professional. A good place to search would be Etsy or Storenvy.
  6. Interact with your readers. Be open to your readers. Let them know that they can email you, comment, and always be able to contact you. This will give you guys a special bond. When responding to comments, always be professional and nice. If people leave rude comments, just ignore it; if you respond rude things back then you are just as bad as them. Make sure you have a positive attitude when writing.
  7. Look at other bloggers and get inspired.

Tips

  • Check over your spelling before you post on your blog.
  • Have fun while writing!
  • Make sure that you write frequently.
  • Do not leave rude or mean comments.
  • Keep your social networking sites somewhere on your page so people can easily access them.
